We love Joey's! We have been 3x since arriving in Napili last week and plan to go again today. The fish tacos are so good! I did get the salmon last time (delish, see photo) and husband got the garlic chicken (not my thing and he felt it was ok, I don't think he's really into deep fried chicken either, but the flavors were good, see photo). We weren't keen on a "fancy" dinner out, but wanted the food to be top notch - we found a winner!
I really wanted both ahi poke bowl and halo halo, but they no longer offered it. I knew halo halo was a long shot since the photo was posted more than 6 years ago. It was partly my fault that I didn't know this place was part of the plaza's food court. I should have curbed my expectations when I saw it was food court. However, I thought, food court can't be that bad, right? Oh, I was wrong. My Loco Moco was flavorless and what's worse, it wasn't even properly seasoned. Had it been seasoned better, it could have been average. The sauce had no flavor and I couldn't even finish my patty. I don't remember the last time I didn't finish my food. My wife's local breakfast had an egg, sliced sausages and spam. The spam was so salty that it was almost perfect pairing to my flavorless rice and sauce. Given the touristy high prices, this was not acceptable. But oh well, I won't be back. Not sure how this place still had 4 stars. Perhaps it was good in its glory days before COVID?
Fantastic Filipino food. I had the pork Adobo. The portions are huge. Looking forward to heating up the leftovers for breakfast. Definitely stop by again. It's a food court so no atmosphere.
Good place to grab something quick and easy during the time at whalers village, located at the lower level of the plaza, inside the food court section, limited seating provides which including outdoor and indoor.
Loco Moco is absolutely delicious, the sauce is one thing i die for. if you have not had Loco Moco in Hawaii, you have never been.
I had a wonderful breakfast burrito! My wife had the French toast. Very tasty.
Best breakfast burrito in the village! Comes with salsa and salad. We also tried pancakes with banana and strawberries and loco moco. Our kids loved the pancakes which come with a very delicious caramel syrup. My husband really liked loco moco.
The lady that sold us food wasn’t super welcoming but we really liked the guy who went above and beyond the last day we came there.
Order incomplete...really bummed about that. Will be doing charge back on my credit card for the missing item.
Other than that, it was delicious.
Great Hawaiian-Filipino fusion. We tried the Island Fish Tacos, Lechon Kawali “Crispy Pork Belly", and a chicken and veggie fried noodle. I always love a well prepared pork belly and Joey’s did not disappoint. The fish tacos were delicious, the slaw pushed them over the top in my opinion. And the fried noodle was the family winner between my husband and kids. The portions were generous, would recommend enjoying family style if you’re not ravenous.
